Grilled Port and Spring Rolls Vermicelli

Grilled pork and spring roll vermicelli is a popular Vietnamese dish that is both tasty and healthy. If you want to enjoy this delicious meal at home, here’s how to make it.


  • 300g of vermicelli
  • 200g of pork belly
  • 200g of pork shoulder
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 1/4 green papaya
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 2 spring onions
  • 2 tablespoons of roasted peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons of fried onions
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Mint leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Basil leaves

For the spring rolls:

  • 200g of minced pork
  • 100g of minced shrimp
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 10 spring roll wrappers


  1. Cook the vermicelli according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cut the pork belly and pork shoulder into thin slices.
  3. Crush the garlic and mix it with the sugar, fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, vegetable oil, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  4. Add the pork slices to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat the grill or a grill pan on medium-high heat. Grill the pork slices until they are cooked through and have a nice char on both sides.
  6. Julienne the carrot, green papaya, and cucumber. Slice the spring onions.
  7. To make the spring rolls, mix the minced pork and shrimp with grated carrot, chopped onion, salt, pepper, fish sauce, beaten egg, and sugar. Wrap the mixture in the spring roll wrappers and deep-fry until they are golden brown.
  8. To serve, place some lettuce leaves and herbs in a bowl. Add the cooked vermicelli on top, then the grilled pork slices and spring rolls. Garnish with the julienned vegetables, roasted peanuts, fried onions, and sliced spring onions. Serve with dipping sauce.
